FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you help individuals, couples, and families?

Family Life Foundation is well equipped to provide therapeutic services to adults, teens, children, couples, and families. We have multiple therapy rooms, including play therapy rooms, which are filled with fun activities for children to help them explore their inner selves and process life experiences in a healthy and meaningful way.

What type of insurance do you accept?

At this time, we are not accepting any forms of insurance for counseling services. Check back periodically to see if this has changed!

What is the difference between an associate and a licensed clinician?

Family Life Foundation's employees with an associate license have completed their master’s level education, been background checked by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), and pass the California Law and Ethics Exam within their first year. They are providing therapeutic services under direct supervision by a licensed therapist in order to gain experience. At Family Life Foundation, our Clinical Supervisor, Trishanne Lininger provides supervision to these employees. Once they complete these required hours, they can apply to be fully licensed clinicians.

My child has been assigned to a Clinical Social Worker, but I asked for a counselor... I'm confused?

In the world of therapy, there are many different types of education you can receive to provide similar services. Family Life Foundation hires Marriage and Family Therapists, Clinical Social Workers, and Professional Clinical Counselors. They all are qualified to provide individual, couples, family, and group therapy!
